25 | On 2/7/2025 at 9:15am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Morgan Pringle met with facility Director Jacque Kirk for an unannounced case management visit for an issue that was found during LPAs inspection on 1/31/2025. Present during LPAs visit were 85 children and 18 additional staff. The facility is located on the Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church campus and holds a license for infant (073405614) and school age (073405613).
In August of 2024 the facility implemented a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) classroom for 12 children that was operating in a classroom that is licensed for school age children. During LPAs previous facility inspection on 1/31/2025, LPA informed Director that TK can only be officially implemented in schools that are governed by a school district. Therefore, the 12 children that were in attendance must be classified as preschool children, not school age, since the facility is not governed by a school district and all the children enrolled in the class are under the age of 6 years old. LPA informed Director that the 12 children in the schools "TK" class would have to be moved to a classroom that was licensed for preschool and will have to be moved to a schedule outside of the school age schedule.
During todays visit, LPA reminded Director that the facility is licensed to operate a preschool classroom in the conference room located next to church's sanctuary for no more than 14 children. LPA informed Director that the children would have to be moved to this classroom as it is the only available space. Director stated that she should be able to fully move the TK classroom to the conference room by Monday, 3/3/2025.
The facility will now operate in (6) classrooms, The Delightful Ducks (room 101), Gentle Giraffes (room 102), Joyful Jaguars (room 103), Kind Koalas (room 104), Peaceful Pandas (room 105) and the TK Truthful Tigers (conference room).
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director Jacque Kirk. |
