On Wednesday, September 18, 2024 Centralized Application Bureau (CAB) Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) M. Domantay, Cherie Acosta, and Kareeca Sykes met with Applicant Rishu Khare for the purpose of a change of capacity increase to the school age program and room change to the license. Applicant requests a school age license to serve 24 school age children from ages TK to 12 years. The program will operate Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The fire clearance was granted and approved on 4/18/2024 from the Contra Costa Country Fire Protection Department. The facility will provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks. LPA reviewed with applicant the LIC 311A, Records To Be Maintained At The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted.

INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There is 1 school age indoor area: Classroom 7. LPAs observed the school age classroom was being utilized as a storage for equipment, toys, tables, and chairs during today's inspection. LPAs notified Applicant school age classroom should be set up appropriately with age appropriate furniture and equipment before being licensed and Applicant will provide photos to LPA. LPAs observed a first aid kit in the school age classroom. Medications will be stored in a locked cabinet in the Assistant Director's office. LPA observed cleaning disinfectants are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Applicant stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. LPA observed a combination smoke/carbon monoxide detector in the facility, in each classroom. Per Applicant facility will utilize electronic sign-in/sign-out system.

LPA measured all school age classrooms/areas. The total classroom space contains a total of 850.72 square feet, which will accommodate Applicant's request for 24 school age children. There are 2 toilets and 2 sinks for the school age children, and a separate private restroom for the staff is located in the facility. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024). Children who become ill during the day will be isolated in the office area and will use the staff restroom, if necessary.
