25 | On 8/3/22 at 8:45 am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Monica Mathur conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection at Kid Time Inc. LPA met with Director, Stretta Farrell and explained the purpose of today's inspection. Facility's operating days and hours are Monday to Friday from 7 am - 6 pm in 3 Rooms. Director stated they are closed for childcare this week for cleaning and staff training. Children will return on 8/10/22.
The physical plant was inspected. LPA toured the premises with the Director.
Indoor space: There were no children present and staff were cleaning rooms and outdoor playgrounds. Classrooms, restrooms, pantry, storage room, and office area were inspected. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other items that are dangerous to the health and safety of children were stored in places inaccessible to them. Cabinets, drawers, and rooms used for storage were locked. Director stated all carpets will be deep cleaned. Furniture and equipment were age appropriate and in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Restrooms for children were observed to be in safe, sanitary, and functioning condition. Floors were clean and free from tripping hazard. Trash cans for solid waste had tight-fitting covers on and were in good repair. LPA observed a working Fire extinguisher, Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors. Log shows that the last Fire Drill was conducted in June 2022. Facility does not provide transportation for children at present, but Director understands that children cannot be left alone, unattended in parked vehicles. Postings were observed.
Outdoor Space: Facility has 3 outdoor areas built on a hillside - at Lower level, Mid level and a Garden at Upper level. They were observed to be fenced and safe. The play equipment was maintained in good condition and free of hazards. Areas around and under high climbing equipment and slides were cushioned with material that absorbs falls. There are 2 swings suspended from trees which have a steep slope underneath. Swings are small sized and very low to the ground. Director stated its not easy to put any soft cushioning under. LPA reminded Director about safety and visual supervision when children play on swings. There were no bodies of water observed. Drinking water is arranged to be readily available to children during indoor and outdoor activities. |
