25 | On 3/25/21 at 9am, Licensing Program Managers (LPMs) Dyson and Mendoza and Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Guirit and Domantay arrived at the facility for an announced prelicensing inspection. LPMs and LPAs met with the applicants, Venkataganesh Muthumarayan and Geetha Venkataga, and the director Danyel Cheathon. An application for a preschool license, with a toddler option, was received for this facility. The facility will also have an infant license on site. The facility will operate Monday-Friday 7am-6pm. The preschool classrooms include: 103, 108, 114, and 118, and the toddler classrooms include: 122, 126, 129 and 131. LPMs and LPAs toured all areas that will be used by and for children, to conduct a health and safety inspection, and the measurements are as follows:
INDOORS: 4,801.09 square feet= 137 children
OUTDOORS: 9,621.84 square feet= 128 children
A fire clearance, with a total capacity of 168 children, including 96 preschoolers, 48 toddlers and 24 infants, was received from the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District on 3/18/21.
LPMs and LPAs observed that all classrooms have sufficient lighting, heating and ventilation for the safety and comfort of children and staff. The floors and surfaces are clean and in good condition. There is an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, and furniture that is in good condition. There is a total of 12 toilets and 23 sinks available for children, and they are in sanitary and operational condition. There is a separate bathroom for staff. The office and staff bathroom will be used for the isolation of sick children. The kitchen is clean and LPMs and LPAs did not observe any cleaning supplies stored with food. The facility will provide snacks and lunch will be brought from home. LPMs and LPAs observed an ample supply of cots, which are stored appropriately. The facility will utilize an electronic sign in/out system.
The facility is equipped with 4A80BC fire extinguishers, a centralized smoke and carbon monoxide detection system, telephone, and first aid supplies. LPMs and LPAs did not observe any hazardous items, toxins, bodies of water or medication accessible to children today. |
