Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Melissa Domantay and Melissa Guirit conducted a Prelicensing inspection today, December 23, 2021 for change of Ownership. LPAs met with applicants, Rachel LaField, Michelle Maggio, Gene Maggio, Rachel Dubois, and Director Debra Carr and toured all areas of the facility for a health and safety inspection. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm. The measurements are as follows:

INDOORS: 1,809.01 = 51 children
OUTDOORS: 6,960.87 = 92 children
A fire clearance, with a total capacity of 50 was received.

LPAs observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. LPAs observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment and furniture. The facility has a 3 sinks and 4 toilets. The classroom has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working combination smoke/carbon monoxide detector, and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPAs did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children. Children will be bringing their own lunches and water bottles from home and will have access to water indoors and outdoors. Facility will only be providing snacks. The staff office and staff bathroom will be used for ill children as the isolation area.

LPAs observed outdoor play areas, they are fully fenced and have ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, and furniture. LPAs observed ample amount of shade for children.

Director, Debra Carr will be considered a qualified preschool director.

If this facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Mandated reporter and appeal rights, civil penalties, unusual incident reporting and fingerprint requirements were discussed today. LPA will email COVID-19 Self-Assessment Guide and Applicant submit to LPA once completed. LPAs reviewed responses and provided technical assistance including postings. Licensee is also being informed of the web address (www.ccld.ca.gov) for downloading child care forms, and the director is encouraged to email ChildCareAdvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov to be included in the Child Care Quarterly Updates distribution list. The director is also reminded that mandated reporter training is required for all staff and is to be renewed every 2 years at www.mandatedreporterca.com.

The facility is licensed for a total capacity of 50 preschoolers. A copy of this report was provided and exit interview conducted with Director Debra Carr.
