On 06/29/2022, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Melissa Domantay and Melissa Guirit conducted a Pre-Licensing inspection today, for a change of Ownership. LPAs met with Co-Directors Shannon Collins and Mireya Espejo. LPAs toured all areas of the facility for a health and safety inspection. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday 7:30AM to 6:00PM. Facility will utilize paper sign in/out. All measurements and rooms remain the same from previous ownership.

A temporary fire clearance until 6/1/2022, with a total capacity of 44, was received from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection Department on 1/13/2022. A clearance 44 preschoolers ages 2 years to first grade entry.

LPAs observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. There are 3 toilets and 3 sinks for children to utilize. LPAs observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, furniture, and are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. LPAs observed the backyard play yard and front play yard areas, they are fully fenced and have ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, and furniture. There is one sand box in the back play yard that appears to be clean and maintained. There is sufficient cushion to absorb a child's fall under the play structures and play areas. LPAs observed ample amount of shade for children.

The building has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher and carbon monoxide detector in the hall and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPAs did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children.

Per Directors, two snacks a day are provided for children, children will be bringing their own lunches and personal reusable water bottles, with water still accessible to children inside and outside. The isolation area will be in one of the designated children's bathrooms and each classroom has a designated corner for ill children.

Co-Directors, Shannon Collins and Mireya Espejo are fully qualified Directors with current CPR/First Aid and mandated reporter training's completed. Mandated Reporter training is current and completed.

If this facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Mandated reporter and appeal rights, civil penalties, unusual incident reporting and fingerprint requirements were discussed today. LPAs reviewed responses and provided technical assistance including postings. Licensee is also being informed of the web address (www.ccld.ca.gov) for downloading child care forms, and the director is encouraged to email ChildCareAdvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov to be included in the Child Care Quarterly Updates distribution list. The director is also reminded that mandated reporter training is required for all staff and is to be renewed every 2 years at www.mandatedreporterca.com.

Preschool license is pending for a capacity of 44 preschool children, awaiting a fire clearance. Directors will send a photo of fire rated door once fully installed and fire inspection has been completed. There are no deficiencies being cited today. A Notice of Site inspection was provided to Co-Directors, Shannon Collins and Mireya Espejo an exit interview was conducted.
