On 08/11/2023 at 1:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christina Watts conducted a Plan of Correction (POC) Inspection at Kensington L'Academy Language Immersion PS- Infant. LPA met with Area Manager (AM), Selene Li and explained the purpose of the visit. During today's inspection, there were 5 infants in care with 3 staff (2 teachers and 1 aide). AM stated that 8 infant children are enrolled. All staff present have Criminal Record Clearance.

LPA is following up on a Type A citation that the facility received for personal rights violation on 08/02/2023. During today's inspection, LPA observed multiple rat droppings on the walkway of the infant playground. LPA also observed multiple traps have been moved or placed in an inaccessible area for infants. AM stated the infant playground is currently closed and staff takes infant children on neighbor walks around the facility for outdoor activity. While the facility has taken action to make infant playground inaccessible until the rat infestation incident has been rectify, facility failed to correct Plan of Correction as written.

LPA Christina Watts assessed a civil penalty of $800 for failure to correct plan of correction in accordance with the California Code of Regulations, Title 22. A civil penalty of $100/day will continue to be assessed until violation is corrected.

Until inspection approval from licensing, infant playground will be made as an off limits for children in care.

During today's inspection, there were no violation observed.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Area Manager, Selene Li. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 consecutive days.
