25 | On 12/8/23 Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Monica Mathur and Brindha Govindasamy conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection at Mushka Rapoport's family home. Licensee has applied for CAPACITY INCREASE from 8 to 14 children. LPAs met with Licensee, Mushka and explained the purpose of inspection. Present in the home were Licensee, Assistant, Licensee's spouse and 7 children (1 infant, 4 preschool age, 2 of her own children of school age). Facility is in ratio compliance today.
Fire clearance was granted on 11/9/23 and Licensee has met all Fire Department requirements. All licensing documents and requirements are complete. LPA explained the capacity and limitations and ratio requirements of a Large Family Childcare Home. If no Assistant is present at a Large Family Child Care Home, then the licensee shall comply with the capacity requirements for a Small Family Child Care Home.
LPAs inspected all areas of the home inside and outside. Licensee wants to change the in-use/off limit areas from those mentioned in prelicensing. Moving forward following will be: IN USE: Detached Playroom (converted garage), half bathroom in playroom, Yard outside playroom. OFF LIMIT: Entire main house
During today's inspection LPAs observed the common outdoor fence gate with adjacent center was open/unlocked. The latch was observed to be broken. LPA reminded to fix the latch/lock and in the meantime need for extra visual supervision when children are near these exits. Children and staff files were reviewed, all were complete.
Facility is approved for LARGE CHILDCARE HOME subject to fixing the fence gate. Report was reviewed and exit interview conducted with Licensee, Mushka Rapoport. NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS ISSUED, MUST BE POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. |
