On 8/26/2025 at 12:45 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Kayla Merchant and Kareeca ”Reeca” Sykes conducted an unannounced Subsequent Complaint Investigation at Crystal Gatti’s Large Family Child Care Home. LPAs met with the Licensee and explained the purpose of today’s inspection. There are 4 preschoolers and 1 infant present today. Complainant alleges that the Licensee did not make medication inaccessible to children in care. During course of investigation LPAs conducted facility inspection, observations, record review, interviews and obtained documents. It was determined based upon evidence received during the investagation licensee stated that children had waken up from a nap and "got into things" and would search for the medication which licensee also stated was later found in the refridgrator.
Based on the interviews and information obtained throughout the investigation, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met. Therefore, the allegation is SUBSTANTIATED. California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12 is being cited on 9099-D page.
Exit interview was conducted with Licensee, Crystal Gatti.
A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS ISSUED AND MUST BE POSTED FOR 30 DAYS.
