13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Soleil Marx met with Director, Veronica Galvan, for the purpose of delivering findings for a complaint investigation alleging that staff handle children in a rough manner. Throughout the course of investigation, LPA made observations of the facility, teacher/child interactions, classroom management, reviewed relevant documentation/records, and conducted interviews with staff, children, and authorized representatives. LPA observed staff interacting with children appropriately. Review of staff and children records did not indicate any rough handling had occurred. Interviews conducted with staff had aligning statements that the discipline policy utilizes positive reinforcement and verbal re-directing. Interviews conducted with children and authorized representatives did not reveal information that would corroborate the allegation. LPA did not obtain any pertinent evidence through observation, record review, or interview during the investigation that would suggest the allegation occurred. Although the allegation may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated.Exit interview conducted and report reviewed with Director. Appeal rights provided. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
