13 | On February 5th, 2026 Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Mandie Goodwin and Sala Vang met with director Rosa Gutierrez to open a complaint and deliver findings for a complaint investigation. Upon arrival LPAs observed 47 children supervised by 9 staff across four classrooms. During the course of the investigation LPAs made observations and conducted interviews. Director stated in an interview that they heard there was a rodent in one of the classrooms ceilings and pest control came out and removed it. LPAs interviewed a staff member (S1) in the classroom who stated that scratching was heard in the ceiling and the school district had pest control come out. A rodent was removed and S1 stated there have been no issues since. S1 further stated that they never saw the rodent and observed no droppings. LPAs observed that trash cans in the rooms had tight fitting lids, and that staff were cleaning the tables and floors after meals. Regulation 101238(a)(1) states "The licensee shall take measures to keep the center free of flies, other insects, and rodents." Based on today's observation measures have been taken through having pest control and keeping a sanitary environment. Continued 9099-C |
