25 | On 06/25/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Soleil Marx met with Licensee, Susan Braun, for the purpose of conducting an unannounced annual inspection. During the inspection LPA observed a census of 10 children in care being supervised by the licensee and assistant. Ages of children were verified to ensure capacity was adhered to. Facilities hours of operation are Monday through Thursday 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM and Friday 08:30 AM to 03:30 PM
A health and safety inspection was conducted in the areas accessible to children. The off-limits areas include: portion of garage, gated side yard, and gated back corner of yard. Licensee understands that children may never enter off-limit areas; off-limit areas are inaccessible by fencing and supervision. LPA observed a telephone, functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher within the home. LPA observed home was safe, sanitary, and orderly. LPA observed that hazardous items such as detergents, cleaning compounds, medication, sharp utensils, and other items that could pose a danger to children in care, are stored out of children's reach. LPA observed a variety of age-appropriate toys, equipment, and materials available to children within the home. LPA observed fireplace and stairs within the home are properly barricaded to meet regulations. LPA observed supervision and personal rights requirements being followed. Licensee stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Licensee understands that if there are any poisons in the home, all poisons must be locked with a key lock/combination lock. LPA observed a spa in fenced in off-limits area of backyard which is covered by a hard top in good repair, locked on all four sides, and chain locked.
LPA observed all required postings were posted and visible to authorized representatives. LPA observed a children's roster and a fire drill log; last drill conducted 06/2025. LPA reviewed children’s files and verified all files contained the required licensing forms and documentation. LPA reviewed records of the licensee and assistant files and verified complete; Licensee has EMSA approved pediatric CPR/First Aid training, which expires 3/2026 and Mandated Reporter Training, which expires 05/2027. Licensee understands both CPR and mandated reporter training's’ must be completed every two years.
