13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christopher Bello met with licensee Renee Hanawalt to continue and close a complaint investigation, regarding the above allegation. Upon arrival, LPA observed 11 children. Also present was licensee’s adult son that was acting as an assistant. LPA made observations, gathered documents pertaining to the investigation and conducted interviews. It was alleged that a child sustained bites and bruises from a lack of supervision. It was alleged that the licensee handled a daycare child in rough manner. It was alleged that the licensee’s adult son smokes in the facility during daycare hours. It was alleged that the licensee screamed at a daycare child. It was alleged that the licensee disciplines children by locking them in the bathroom or closet.
Interviews from parents, staff and children did not corroborate the allegation. Observations did not corroborate the allegation. Licensee stated that absolutely nothing is true regarding the allegations and is without basis.
Based on LPA’s investigation although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is Unsubstantiated.
No Title 22 Deficiencies observed in the areas that were evaluated. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with licensee Renee Hanawalt. |
