25 | On 04/10/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Soleil Marx met with Licensee, Kimberlee Laperle, for the purpose of conducting an unannounced annual inspection. During the inspection, LPA observed a census of seven children in care being supervised by the licensee and assistant. Ages of children were verified during file review to ensure capacity was adhered to. Facilities hours of operation are Monday through Friday 07:00 AM to 05:00 PM.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in the areas accessible to children. The off-limits areas include: entire second floor, laundry room, hall closet, garage, left side of yard. Licensee understands that children may never enter off-limit areas. LPA observed off-limit areas of the home were inaccessible by baby gates, fencing, locked/closed doors, and supervision. LPA observed a working telephone, functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher within the home. LPA observed home was safe and sanitary with age-appropriate toys, equipment, and materials available to children both indoors and outdoors. LPA observed that hazardous items such as cleaning compounds, sharp utensils, and other items that could pose a danger to children in care, are stored out of children's reach in child locked cabinets/drawers and in off-limit areas. LPA observed supervision, and personal rights requirements being met. LPA observed wood burning stove and stairs within the home are barricaded by baby gates. Licensee stated there are no bodies of water on the premises. Licensee understands that all poisons on the premises must be locked with a key lock or combination lock. LPA observed firearms within the home and secured and locked properly to meet regulation.
LPA reviewed records for facility, licensee/assistant, and children. LPA observed required postings were visible to authorized representatives. LPA observed children's roster and fire drill log being maintained. LPA verified children's files were complete with required forms/documentation. LPA reviewed records of the licensee and assistant; Licensee has pediatric CPR/First Aid training, which expires 12/2025 and Mandated Reporter Training, which expires 02/2026. Licensee understands CPR and mandated reporter training must be completed every two years.
