LPA observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, high chairs, cubbies, and napping cots. LPA observed nine montessori bed boxes located in the crib area which is separated from the activity space using a four foot tall plexiglass wall partition. Applicant has requested a Montessori Bed Box Waiver. There is a first aid kit in each of the classrooms. Medications will be stored in each classroom in the medicine cabinets. LPA observed cleaning disinfectants are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Director stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. LPA observed water fountains in the classrooms and water bottles for the children. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector in each classroom. LPA observed an electronic sign-in/sign-out system.
LPA measured the infant classroom. The total classroom space contains a total of 319 square feet, which will accommodate Applicant's request for 9 infants. LPA observed two sinks within arm's reach of a diaper changing table. LPA also observed two toilets which are not in use. LPA measured the toddler classrooms. The total classroom space contains a total of 1,794 square feet, which will accommodate Applicant’s request for 36 toddlers. There are four toilets and six sinks for the toddlers. LPA measured the preschool classrooms. The total classroom spaces contain a total of 2,677 square feet, which will accommodate Applicant’s request for 72 preschool children. There are four toilets and four sinks for the preschool children. LPA observed a separate private restroom for the staff located in the hallway. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024). Children who become ill during the day will be isolated in the office and will use the staff restroom, if necessary.
OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There are four outdoor areas on the property, Infant Yard, Toddler Yard #1 and Toddler Yard #2, and Preschool Yard. The outdoor play area is fenced with a wrought iron fence that is at least four feet tall and separates the infant yard from the toddler yard and the toddler yard from the preschool yard. LPA did not observe any play structure. LPA observed a sufficient amount of equipment and toys. There are no bodies of water on the premises. There are shaded areas supplied by trees, canopies, and overhangs.
