13 | On December 17, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Miguel Herrera conducted an unannounced inspection to conclude the complaint investigation that was submitted on 11/21/2024. LPA met with Director, Amalia Deel and Assistant Director, Elizabeth Calderon and explained the purpose of the inspection and delivered investigation findings. A tour of the facility was conducted, and a census was taken. During the course of the investigation, LPA Herrera obtained & reviewed records, conducted interviews, and made facility observations.
Based on information gathered through interviews, it was corroborated that child #1 was bitten by other daycare children. Although interviews and records corroborated that child #1 was bitten in multiple occasions by other daycare children there was not a preponderance of evidence that the incidents occurred due to a lack of supervision by facility staff. Furthermore, during records review LPA Herrera observed that the facility was aware of the incidents, and documented and reported the incidents to child #1’s parent. Furthermore, the facility had taken additional steps to mitigate the behavior not limited to; redirection, providing one on one supervision, and implementing books during circle time that model proper behavior. To be continued on 9099-C.
