25 | On 08/14/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Stephanie Vega-Gonzalez conducted an unannounced case management. LPA met with facility Director, Debbie Rodriguez and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA conducted a tour of the facility inside and outside. The purpose of the inspection was due to the observations LPA observed during the tour of the facility on today's date.
On today's date LPA observed that there was construction of a wooden cazebo in the outdoor play area. LPA was informed by Director that the old wooden cazebo was dismantled two weeks ago during the weekend on August 3, 2024. LPA was informed by Director that the outdoor play area was made inaccessible to children in care. Through record review LPA did not observe that the required notification prior to making changes was not called in to the department. LPA spoke to Licensee, Lynette Ferguson via the phone. LPA reviewed reporting requirements and PIN 23-20-CCP. Lynette stated that they will call in the changes to the department and will do a follow up once the new cazebo is completed. LPA informed the Director and Lynette that outdoor play area must be inspected by the department prior to children having access to area. Director stated she understood and that the department will be called in once it is complete.
LPA reviewed the following regulation with the Director: 101212 Reporting Requirements (c) The licensee shall notify the Department in writing of his/her intent prior to making any structural changes that reduce the total amount of indoor or outdoor activity space. Such structural changes shall include, but not be limited to, room additions.
LPA also reviewed the following PIN with the Director. PIN 23-20-CCP "REQUIRED NOTIFICATION PRIOR FOR MAKING CHANGES TO CHILD CARE FACILITIES".
LPA asked Director if they had any questions. The Director stated they understood the steps required.
Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, no deficiency cited. Exit interview conducted with Director, Debbie Rodriguez. A copy of this report and Appeal Rights were provided and discussed with Director, Debbie Rodriguez. |
