25 | On 8/6/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Priscilla Zamudio and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Cynthia Brannon conducted an announced case management inspection and met with Charlotte Miranda, Health and Safety Supervisor. LPA explained the reason of the inspection and a tour of the center was conducted both inside and outside. The center is located at 202 N Mariposa Fresno, CA 93701, Jefferson Elementary School.
This is a change of classroom locations from room 27 to room 33. The facility will remain with the same capacity of 21, preschool children ages 2-6 years old. This program will operate during the traditional school year. Days and hours of operation are Monday-Friday, AM Session: 8:00 am-11:00 am, and PM Session 12:00pm-3:00pm. This program will operate in classroom 33.
This facility will continue to provide meals and snacks to children. Food is prepared at Jefferson Elementary School and will be served in the classroom. Ill children will be isolated in the nurse’s office or in the teacher’s desk area that is made inaccessible and utilize the staff bathroom. Currently, the teacher's area is made inaccessible with a baby gate. Per Charlotte Miranda, a door will be installed.
The classroom was observed to be clean and free of toxins. LPA observed that the furniture and equipment appeared to be safe and in good condition. There are enough tables, chairs, and plenty of toys for children to play. There is a working carbon monoxide detector inside the classroom.
LPA reviewed with Charlotte Miranda that any future changes to the classroom(s) are required to ensure that furniture does not tip over on to children, the furniture are to be anchored or situated that tipping does not occur. Classroom changes of furniture shall be situated that 100% visual supervision is always provided to children in care.
Room measurements were taken and reviewed with Charlotte Miranda, Health and Safety Supervisor. The total inside preschool area measured to an approximate 1049 square feet which will accommodate the requested capacity of 21, preschool children at a time. There is adequate storage space available for children's belongings in the classroom.
