On July 18, 2025, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Miguel Herrera and Meche Rosales conducted an unannounced inspection to conclude the complaint investigation that was received on 05/30/2025. LPAs met with Assistant Director, Mariah Garcia and explained the purpose of the inspection and delivered investigation findings. A tour of the facility was conducted, and a census was taken. During the course of the investigation, LPAs obtained & reviewed records, conducted interviews, and made facility observations.
Based on interviews it was confirmed that a head lice outbreak occurred at the facility. However, Interviews disclosed that the facility notified parents of the affected children and temporarily excluded the affected children from care to mitigate the spread. Additionally, the facility cleaned the classrooms and sent beddings home to be laundered.
While head lice screenings were implemented, the screenings occurred some time after the initial case. Furthermore, it was unclear whether the facility had a procedure in place to mitigate the spread of head lice since staff had inconsistent statements regarding head lice mitigation. Continued on 9099-C.
