LPAs met with Director, Nancy Channita, a census was taken and LPAs toured the facility indoors and outdoors. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Licensee provides breakfast, lunch and a PM snack. Fire drills are conducted every month.
There is an in-ground swimming pool that is fenced per regulation to make it inaccessible. Swimming pool is not used for preschool children. Swimming pool is used by the school age program.
There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. No poisons were observed during the inspection.
Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. LPA Brannon observed in the front preschool classroom blue child size chair and couch that shows wear and tear. Next to the child size furniture, is a blue foam/cushion block that is showing wear and tear. During today’s inspection, LPA Brannon did review this with director. LPA informed director that when foam shows, licensee will be unable to sanitize the child size equipment. LPA requested director to communicate with staff to ensure that child size furniture and foam block/cushion is addressed and dealt with appropriately. In the toddler room, there is a child size refrigerator. Upon opening the top cabinet door, LPA observed a small area with exposed wood and paint is worn. In the back preschool classroom, there are child size blue couch and chair that show wear and tear. LPA discussed with director to ensure that when foam is showing, the furniture can be dealt with appropriately.
