25 | On 10/20/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ruby Ocegueda made an unannounced Annual required inspection. LPA toured the facility and a census was taken. There were no school aged children present during the inspection. LPA met with Director, Amelita Davis. There are no bodies of water. Firearms and other weapons are not allowed or stored on the premises of a child care center. The child care center is clean and in good repair to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees, and visitors. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children, are inaccessible to children. No poisons were observed durning todays inspection. Furniture and equipment is in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. All toilets, hand washing, and bathing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. All floors are clean and safe. The facility provides one pre-packaged snack and fresh fruits as snack to school aged children. The snacks are stored in the kitchen. While inspecting the kitchen that is shared with the preschool license, it was observed that there were live cockroaches in the drawers and cabinets and droppings on a cutting board. Director confirmed the observation. This deficiency will be cited under the preschool license today (Facility number 103808567) and a plan of correction was discussed with Director today. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Uncontaminated drinking water is readily available both indoors and out. Outdoor activity space surfaces are free of hazards. The facility maintains compliance with staff-child ratios. Snacks are provided. During Summer and Holidays, children are provided breakfast and snack. Lunches are brought by each child from home and are properly labeled and stored. Menus are posted. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements. There is a separate, complete, and current record maintained for each child enrolled in the child care center. Each child's record contains a medical assessment. Report continued to page 808-C |
