On 03/18/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Candis Rodriguez conducted a complaint inspection at facility. LPA met with Director Taryn McKelvey, explained purpose of inspection, took a tour of the facility and a census.

During the investigation, LPA interviewed multiple staff members, Directors, obtained facility documents, and observed facility during two inspections. It was revealed through interviews with multiple teachers and LPA's observations that all staff wear masks in the facility, however not all children wear masks. In interviews with multiple teachers and Director, many parents are adamant that their children not wear masks and do not assist the facility in encouraging mask usage, making it more difficult for children to keep their masks on. It was also revealed in interviews with multiple teachers and Directors that facility does encourage children to wear masks regularly, but many children can not keep them on for developmental reasons. LPA observed facility does keep masks available for those who need them.

It was revealed through interviews with multiple teachers and Director, as well as observations of LPA that facility does follow Department of Public Health guidelines and Centers for Disease Control. LPA's observations and interviews conducted conclude that facility makes the effort to follow all of the guidelines to keep all children, staff, and visitors safe.

Based on interviews conducted and observation, investigation could not reveal that Mask are not being worn. Therefore, although allegations above may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to provide the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are unsubstantiated.

Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, no deficiency cited during today’s visit. Exit interview conducted with Director Taryn McKelvey.
