25 | On 09/26/2023, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Aurelio Mendoza and Julie Baptista conducted an unannounced case management visit to review an incident that occurred on 08/14/2023. LPAs explained purpose of inspection and took a census.
On 08/14/2023, Staff # 3 had a child who also attended the facility in the school age classroom (Room # 3). Staff # 3’s school age child was in Room # 3 (school age side) and was screaming. Staff # 3 heard her school age child and left her class (Room # 2-infant room) to go see her own child across the breezeway in Room # 3. An altercation ensued where the office manager immediately stepped in Room # 2-infant room to seamlessly maintain supervision of four infants next to office manager’s office. Per records reviews and staff interviews it was verified that facility maintained consistent supervision of the four infants in Room # 2. As a result of incident Director Graves terminated Staff # 3 due to the teacher leaving her class to go over to Room # 3-school age children.
No deficiencies observed in the areas addressed during today's visit. The incident is an isolated event and not a result of lack of care and supervision.
Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, no deficiency is being cited during today's inspection.
This report is to be made available to the public upon request.
LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit to be posted for 30 days.
