32 | There is a total of 6 toilets and 12 sinks/hand washing fixtures which will accommodate the requested capacity of 85 preschool children. Applicant will be providing toilet training. There is one changing table located in classrooms 4 and 5. LPA observed one drinking fountain in classrooms 1, 2, 5 and 6 and two water fountains in the outdoor activity area. Water pitchers with disposable cups from a cup dispenser were observed in classrooms 3 and 4.
The approximate outside square footage for the preschool area is 6,474 square feet which will accommodate the requested capacity of 85 preschool children. The preschool play area is gated all around. Facility is utilizing two pop up shade structures that are anchored to the ground to provide a shaded rest area while the permanent shade structure is being delivered. The permanent shade structure will be installed over the outdoor play structure. LPA observed age appropriate toys and equipment. High climbing equipment was observed. Facility is utilizing rubber cushioning for areas under high climbing equipment. LPA reminded Applicant, Kristin Peterson, to provide adequate supervision at all times. This facility was built after January 1, 2010 and is currently exempt from lead testing requirements for drinking and cooking water.
A fire clearance was approved by the City of Fresno Fire Department for 85 preschool children on 8/2/23.
This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Applicant, Kristin Peterson was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Pending a final file review, a recommendation will be made to license the above facility for a capacity of 85 preschool children.
