25 | On 08/26/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Valentin Hernandez and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Cynthia Brannon conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Guadalupe Castillo. Also present was Licensee Husband, Robert Castillo. Background criminal record clearances are verified and discussed. All adults living in the home and/or providing care and supervision to children have a criminal record clearance. Licensee is Spanish Speaking and I, Valentin Hernandez assisted with interpretation. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 5:00AM to 6:00PM.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. Current facility sketch reviewed, and Licensee confirmed that the kitchen, bathroom and living room are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of safety devices plastic doorknob spinners. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area. No poisons were observed during the inspection. LPA observed that the kitchen drawers’ locking mechanism was not working adequately on all of the kitchen and bathroom drawers. LPA observed staple remover, nail polish, batteries, denture paste and toothpaste. These items have warnings to keep out of reach of children.
The fireplace located in the living room are made inaccessible by a glass door and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Stairs are fenced or barricaded when children under age 5 years old are present. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (559) 473-6516.
