32 | There is one fireplace in the home located in the living room and is made inaccessible by a screen door and will not be in use during daycare hours.
There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. LPA observed a fleece baby blanket placed on the side railings of the crib and a 6-month-old infant on his stomach. LPA reminded Licensee to infants 12 months and younger must be placed on their backs. Licensee immediately adjusted infant and stated she understood.
The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there is an accessible in-ground pool and jacuzzi hazardous to children present. Safe toys and play equipment are observed.
LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were not complete with emergency information as required. Based on LPA records review, child #1 does not have LIC627, ID, 15-minute sleep logs and LIC9227, child #2 does not have LIC9227 and 15-minute sleep logs, child #3 does not have LIC613A, LIC627, LIC995A and LIC282, child #4 does not have LIC700, LIC627, LIC9150 and LIC995A, child #5 does not have LIC613, LIC9227, 15-minute sleep logs and Immunization Records and child #6 does not have LIC627.
Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training expired on 06/13/2023. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid certification expires on 03/04/2024. Licensee last conducted fire drill 02/10/2023. Based on LPA records review, Licensee does not have Mandated Reporter Training and TB. Assistant does not have LIC9052, LIC508 and a copy of Assistant's driver's license. A review of records indicates that all employees and/or volunteers have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis, and measles.
LPA discussed the Community Care Licensing website www.ccld.ca.gov which will provide access to resources such as forms, regulations Provider Information Notices (PINs), and Quarterly Updates.
LPA discussed Reporting Requirements as outlined in the regulations (Section 102416.2).
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
