25 | On 03/01/24, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Martha De Haro, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by the Licensee, Erika Centeno. Assistant #1 and Assistant #2 were also present. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is 760-679-2604. Licensee’s hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 5 am to 6 pm and overnights as needed.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. Current facility sketch reviewed and Licensee confirmed that the nap room, toy area, living room, kitchen, hall bathroom, and side yard are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by door knob spinners and baby gates. This is a two-story home and stairs are inaccessible by use of a baby gate. The outdoor play area is located in the side yard. It is fenced and no hazards to children were present. Licensee stated that there is no swimming pool or other body of water on the property, which LPA confirmed via observation. LPA observed that the firearms and ammunition in the home were stored separately in locked gun and ammo boxes. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
There is no fire place or open face heaters in the home. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. There are 5 dogs in the home, which stay outdoors in a fenced off area. Licensee understands the liability of pets around day care children and accepts responsibilities of any action taken by pets. (Continued on LIC 809-C) |
