25 | On 11/30/23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Norma Lomeli conducted a capacity increase inspection from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. Present at time of inspection was Spanish-speaking licensee, Ofelia Sandoval Elizondo and four day care children who were napping. Licensee, her husband and three minor children reside in the home. Verified licensee CPR and First Aid was completed through HIS- EMS Safety with Emergency Medical Services Authority stickers (EMSA) and expires on 4/15/25. Licensee’s Assistant, Maria Guadalupe Sandoval has not completed the training. Licensee understands that the assistant cannot be left alone to provide care and supervision to the day care children. Background criminal record clearances are verified and discussed, and LIS 531 is signed indicating that the adults living in the home and/or providing care and supervision to children have a criminal record clearance or exemption. Fire clearance was granted on 10/25/23.
A tour of the home, inside and outside, as shown on the facility sketch, was conducted and the following was discussed and/or observed:
- Fire clearance was received on 10/25/23. Fire pull alarm is located in the home’s dining room wall.
- LPA observed children size furniture, safe toys and books for the children. LPA also observed one high chair and one play yard. There is a parent’s board that is located on the hallway wall.
- Licensee states she does not have weapons, firearms or ammunition in the home. Poisons are kept inside a locked shed that is located in the backyard.
- Facility has 3A40BC fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide alarm, working smoke alarm and first aid kit in place.
