25 | On 10/4/24, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Norma Lomeli conducted a capacity increase inspection from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. Present at time of inspection was licensee and two day care children who were playing in the play room. Licensee, husband and one minor child reside in the home. Verified licensee’s CPR and First Aid was completed through American Heart Association and expires on 2/11/25. Licensee Assistant, Bryan Portillo completed the training through EMS Safety and expires 11/12/25. Background criminal record clearances are verified and discussed, and LIS 531 is signed indicating that the adults living in the home and/or providing care and supervision to children have a criminal record clearance. Fire clearance was granted on 9/16/24.
A tour of the home, inside and outside, as shown on the facility sketch, was conducted and the following was discussed and/or observed:
- Fire clearance was received on 9/16/24. Licensee states that fire inspector did not require for her to install a fire pull alarm.
- LPA observed children size furniture, safe toys and books for the children. LPA also observed two high chairs and one play yard. There is a parent’s board that is located on the hallway wall.
- Licensee states she does not have weapons, firearms, ammunition or poisons in the home.
- Facility has 3A40BC fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide alarm, working smoke alarm and first aid kit in place.
- Licensee is advised at least one staff member with current training in pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR is to be on site at all times children are present.
