A prelicensing inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), J. Snow. LPA met with facility representative Jaqueline Campos. The applicant/licensee , Jaqueline Campos is requesting a license for 20 Preschool children are age 3-5 years. The facility will operate Monday-Friday, 8am to 12 noon. The facility has one building divided into several rooms, they requested to license room 101, 102, 107, 108 &109 with one bathroom for children and one bathroom for staff. The fire clearance was issued on 6/13/2024.

The indoor and outdoor activity spaces were toured, and the facility sketch was verified. The following areas will be off limits to children: key locked kitchen. The kitchen with stove refrigerator, warming oven, microwave dishwasher to store/prepare meals. They plan to have the meals delivered from the Child and Family Services (government program under dept of education). The program is only 4 hours and they don’t provide naps but have a rest area in the sensory room # 108 with cushions & nap mats for resting. The isolation area for sick children will be located in room# 109.

The outdoor play area is located off the preschool room & is fully fenced. There are a few small structures rated for age 2-5 years) and a large structure with 2 slides rated age 2-12 years or children to play on and. There is rubber matting which provides adequate cushioning underneath. The play structures are anchored into the ground. There is no pool, spa, pond, fountain, or any other body of water on the premises. The poisons are locked in janitors’ closet. There is safe and age-appropriate furniture, toys, and play equipment available for children. see next page

A capacity worksheet was completed during the visit. Room # 102, 108 & 109 measure for a total of 1183 square feet with 2 bathrooms and 2 sinks. The yard measures 6,018 square feet which is enough for the requested capacity.

Facility representative, Jaqueline Campos, was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA reviewed with facility representative, Jaqueline Campos, the LIC 311A, Records to Be Maintained At The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with the facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep, as an additional resource. LPA also informed the facility representative of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/, and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Jaqueline Campos was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
