25 | A prelicensing inspection was conducted today at 9:30 AM by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kiriko Lynch. LPA met with facility representative Dannielle Petersen. The applicant is requesting a license for six infants with a capacity of six. The facility will operate Monday-Friday, 7 AM to 6 AM. The facility has 1 classroom, nap room, meal room, kitchen, 1 restroom for children, and 1 restroom for staff.
The indoor and outdoor activity spaces were toured, and the facility sketch was verified. The following areas will be off limits to children: gated upstairs area and side parking area. These areas have been made inaccessible by means of door locks and gates. There is a nap room for infants to sleep with 5 cribs available and an additional crib located in the main classroom if needed. The isolation area for sick children will be located main classroom in extra crib area away from other children. The changing table is in the children’s restroom next to sink.
The children will use the front yard as the exterior play area and it is fully fenced. There is grass for children to play on and facility representative will be purchasing equipment for infants and ensure to follow the appropriate age and manufacturer guidelines for use by children. There is no pool, spa, pond, fountain, or any other body of water on the premises. The cleaning supplies and other hazardous items are locked in the off-limits kitchen behind locked doors. The stairs are barricaded with gates and locked doors off-limits and inaccessible to children. There is safe and age appropriate furniture, toys, and play equipment available for children.
Measurements of facility were submitted with application and verified during the prelicensing inspection and are sufficient for the requested capacity of six children. There is 1 toilet and 1 sink available for children, and an additional potty chair. Based on the above, the maximum capacity of the facility could be 16 children. Fire clearance was received by Licensing prior to the prelicensing inspection, and capacity has been granted for six children due to fire regulations.
