25 | On 3/8/23 at 9:35am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Martha Malane arrived at the facility to conduct a pre-licensing inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Applicant, Patricia Pradis and was led on a tour the facility. Applicant is requesting a capacity of 8 children (age 3-5 years) in the Kid’s Classroom and the Nap Room. Applicant’s planned hours of operation are Monday - Friday 7:30am – 5:30pm.
The indoor space measured a total of 1167.49 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 33 children, however applicant is only requesting a capacity of 8 children. Rooms are equipped with age appropriate furniture and equipment including cots for napping, tables, chairs, cubbies, bookshelves and other materials for children. There are two (2) toilets and one (1) sink available for use, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. Drinking water is available outdoors and indoors via bottled water and disposable cups. There is a separate restroom for staff located next to the office. The staff restroom and office will be utilized for isolation for children who are ill. Disinfectants and cleaning solutions are kept in an inaccessible closet in the office. The kitchen includes one (1) sink, one (1) refrigerator with a freezer, one (1) microwave, one (1) stove and storage space. The facility provides meals and snacks for children. The facility utilizes manual sign in and sign out sheets. Required documents are posted. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector.
The outdoor activity space for preschool children was inspected and measured a total of 609.15 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate eight (8) children. The outdoor space is fenced and shade is provided by the use of an awning. Proper supervision and placement of staff outside was discussed to ensure the safety of children at all times.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP.
