25 | On September 22, 2025, at 08:35 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Jacqueline Macias conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and met with Licensee, Maria Olvera. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Also present was Licensee’s Spouse, Juan Olvera. There was one (1) daycare child (toddler) present in the facility during the time of inspection. Days and Hours of operation are: Monday-Friday from 7:00 am-8:30 pm.
At 8:45am, LPA and Licensee toured the indoor and outdoor of the home. This one story facility is a three (3) bedroom, two (2) bathroom house. The following areas used for child care are: playroom, kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom #1 and backyard. Off limits areas are bedrooms #1-3 and bathroom #2, and are inaccessible through use of child safety doorknob covers and door locks.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements and are operational. Hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the inspection. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities at time of inspection. Licensee states she provides continuous supervision of children during outside activities at all times.
At 9:05 am, LPA observed that the backyard is enclosed with a wood fence and has an in-ground swimming pool that has enclosure, fence, wall or other barrier that isolates the swimming pool from access to the family child care home.
LPA observed a 60 inch tall rod iron fencing with gaps that do not exceed 2 inches apart with no gap from the ground with a self- closing- self latching pool gate that swings away from the pool. The fence does not obscure the pool from view. LPA observed the lock on the pool gate to be key lockable.
