25 | On 9/17/24, at 1:45 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Gloria Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Annual/Random and for the purpose of a capacity increase Inspection and met with Licensee, Odette Murillo. The fire clearance for 14 children was received on 9/3/24. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Five (5) daycare children and two (2) staff members were present in the facility during this inspection. This two (2) story, three (3) bedroom, four (4) bath home was toured and inspected. The hours of operation are Monday through Sunday, 3:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Licensee will use the following areas for child care: living room, tv living room, dining room, bathroom 1 (by laundry room), laundry room, kitchen, and backyard. Off limits areas include: garage, bathroom four (in garage), and entire upstairs (3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms). They are made inaccessible to day care children through the use of, doorknob covers, and a safety gate.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the inspection. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities at time of inspection. The upstairs is not used and is gated off at the bottom of the stairway and the Licensee understands the gate must be in place when children under five years are present during day care hours. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. |
