25 | On 08/28/23 at 11:00AM, LPA, Luigi Gargaro, conducted an unannounced capacity increase visit with the applicant. During today's visit, Ms. Osorio Perez was present as well as her cleared and associated spouse, Jonathan Mena, her facility helper, Rosario Perez Rojo and four day care children (including her own two toddler children). The one story, three bedroom, two bathroom home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. The fire extinguisher and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. Analyst inquired of the applicant about whether there were any bodies of water or weapons in the home and she replied no. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. The home appears to be large enough to comfortably accommodate 14 children. Analyst received written confirmation from El Centro Fire Department fire chief Brad Chapin on 08/25/23 that the home received a large license fire clearance. First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 03/28/24 for the applicant.
Applicant will be using the following rooms for childcare: the living/day care room, the third home bedroom (bedroom #3) and the day care bathroom. The following areas will be off limits: the kitchen, the master and second home bedrooms with inclusive master bath (bedrooms #1 and #2) and the garage. The kitchen is made off limits with a secured safety gate that is installed in its entrance way. The two off limits bedrooms are made inaccessible with door knob covers that are installed on their respective entrance door handles and the garage is made off limits with a locking door knob and dead bolt lock installed on its entrance door. The applicant has sufficient toys and equipment available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. A portion of the yard which contains the applicant's personal items, including a storage shed for keeping home items in it, is made off limits with an installed fence and gate. The storage shed is kept locked during day care hours. |
