25 | On 06/25/2024 at 10:10 am., Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Michelle Hood and Julieta Abrego conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection with applicant Araceli Suarez. The purpose of the inspection is to ensure that the home complies with standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, for Family Child Care Homes. This two story 4-bedroom, 3-bath home was toured and inspected to ensure the environment is safe for the care and supervision of children. Per the applicant operating hours will be Monday through Friday 5:00 am. to 6:00 pm.
The applicant provided proof of control of the property for review by the Department. The applicant will use the following areas for childcare: living room, kitchen, dining room, downstairs bathroom, and backyard located outside of the kitchen sliding door. Off-limits areas include the left and right side of the backyard, bedroom #4, laundry room, garage, and entire upstairs. They are made inaccessible to daycare children through the use of doorknob covers, and door latches. The stairs are barricaded with a safety gate. The applicant will utilize the backyard off the kitchen for outdoor activities. Applicant understands there must always be direct supervision while at the outside with children. There is an above ground pool observed during the time of the visit. The above is ground pool is made inaccessible with a five feet high fence and the gate swings away from the pool and self-latches. The applicant stated there are no weapons or firearms. The fire extinguisher is rated 3A 40B: C, and smoke, and carbon monoxide detectors meet requirements and are operational. All poisons, cleaners, and hazardous items in the home are inaccessible to children through latches, locks, and/or placed on high surfaces.
Children’s toys and play equipment are available. The applicant has completed the 8 hours of preventative health. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications expire on 06/2026. The applicant completed Mandated Reporter AB1207 training certification on 05/11/2024. Immunization records per SB792 were reviewed and are in compliance with the applicant.
