25 | On 10/01/2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Octavia Nolan and Paul Garcia conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPAs met with Site Supervisor Yesenia Rubira. LPAs toured the facility inside and outside and took a census.
On 08/30/2024 the facility notified Community Care Licensing Office (CCL) via telephone regarding an Unusual Incident that occurred the same day. During naptime, Teacher #1 noticed that Child #1 was not responsive, shaking, and vomiting. Teacher #1 turned Child #1 on their side and notified Site Supervisor Esther. Site Supervisor Esther called 911 and contacted Child #1’s parents. The child was transported to the hospital by EMS. Child #1 was treated and released with parents on 08/30/2024. Child #1 was not diagnosed a seizure per Site Supervisor and was given a return to care note from a physician. The child has recovered and returned to daycare.
LPAs inspected the area where the incident took place. There are no hazards present, and staff completed training for naptime supervision after the incident. The facility also provided Community Care Licensing with an updated Incidental Medical Services Plan. This appears to be an isolated incident and staff took appropriate measures to address the child’s medical emergency following appropriate Department policies and procedures.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Site Supervisor Yesenia Rubira. Appeal rights were provided.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited.
This report shall be made available to the public upon request. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit is provided and required to be posted for 30 days. |
