25 | On 10/03/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jose Penate conducted an unannounced case management inspection due to recent inspection conducted with toileting and inaccessibility areas of the home. On today’s date LPA Penate observed a retractable child gate in the middle hallway that does not allow children access to the living room and kitchen. All other areas of the home are inaccessible with doorknob spinners. LPA confirmed with licensee that the daycare room is the only room in the home that is to be utilized for children in care and the hallway restroom will be used for daycare children. LPA instructed licensee to maintain the door to the daycare room open when children that will use the restroom be open so that visual supervision is maintained at all times. During inspection LPA confirmed that water to the toilet installed in the daycare room is no longer operational and licensee placed a child lock strap so it cannot be utilized by daycare children. Licensee requested to continue to utilize the sink that was installed in the daycare room for sanitary concerns, and after visual observations made by LPA it was confirmed and agreed to keep the commercial sink in the room for use. The sink is mounted correctly to the wall and is not loose and does not pose a danger to children in care. Licensee ensures to keep hand drying supplies in the daycare for when the children use the sink located in the daycare room.
Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, no deficiencies cited during today's visit.
Exit interview was conducted with Licensee, Mirian Hernandez.
