During this inspection, LPA and Licensee Rivas completed a tour of the family child care and observed the following:
1. The in ground pool is surrounded by a 5’ iron fence that is mounted on concrete and chain linked fence that gives access from the front yard (off-limits). The rest of the pool is blocked by a storage unit/garage. The bottom of the fence is no more than 4” from the concrete. The bars of the fence are no more than 4” apart. The gate that gives direct access from the day care swings away from the pool and is equipped with a self-closing, self-latching mechanism that is not more than 6” from the top of the gate. The self-latching, self-locking mechanism of this gate was observed to be working properly. The second gate that gives access to the pool is not directly accessible to children (off limits) in care but was also observed to have a self-latching, self-closing mechanism. The second gate is a chain-linked fence that contains privacy slacks installed.
