25 | On March 13, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kris Diaz met with licensee, Nancy Toscano Cruz, who granted access and guided LPA on a tour of the home. The purpose of the visit was to conduct a pre-licensing inspection for a relocation. People who reside in the home are the licensee who has background clearance and TB Skin test on file and her minor child (15 months). The licensee is requesting to operate as a small family childcare home. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 4:30a-4:30p. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) were discussed with the licensee. Per licensee, there are no children in care requiring IMS at this time.
This is a one-story family home. The home consists of five bedrooms, three bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, laundry room, and garage. There is no body of water on the premises. The primary care will be conducted in bedroom #1 and bedroom #2. Children will have access to the living room, kitchen, dining room, and restroom between the childcare rooms. The off-limit areas of the home include bedrooms 3, 4, and 5, the bathroom near these rooms, the backyard, and the laundry room and garage made inaccessible with a safety gate. Licensee will contact LPA when backyard is ready for inspection. LPA observed safety knobs on all the doors making closets and off-limits rooms inaccessible. LPA observed safety locks on all lower kitchen cabinets. LPA observed 2 pack n plays and 4 mats for napping. LPA observed several age-appropriate toys and activities in the childcare area. Per licensee, there are no pets on the premises and LPA did not observe any pets. Per licensee, she will be bringing her dog over when the house is unpacked and in order.
The home was inspected inside for comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating, and ventilation. The kitchen knives are stored in an upper kitchen cabinet on the top shelf inaccessible to children. Cleaning compounds are stored under the kitchen sink and in the laundry area inaccessible to children.
LPA observed fully stocked first aid kit located in an upper kitchen cabinet inaccessible to children. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. LPA did not observe any weapons or firearms.
