32 | There is a total of 4 toilets and 4 sinks/hand washing fixtures which will accommodate the requested capacity of 39 Preschool children. There is a water fountain inside each classroom that children will use to have water readily available to them. Classroom 1 was not set up for classroom use.
The approximate outside square footage for the preschool area is 8.382 square feet, which will accommodate requested capacity of 39 Preschool Children. The preschool play area is fenced and gated all around and will be shared through staggered times with the children enrolled in the Kings County Office of Education - Inclusion classes. A Waiver will be required requesting use of shared playground between children enrolled in Preschool and children enrolled in Kings County Office of Education - Inclusion classes. LPA observed age appropriate toys, a bike path and age-appropriate structure. Applicant is using pour-in-place rubber matting to cushion fall zones. LPA reminded Evelyn Solorio, Program Administrator, to provide adequate supervision at all times and not to commingle Preschool children with children enrolled in the Inclusion classes. There is no available shaded rest area for children
A revised fire clearance will be requested to the Hanford Fire Department for approval of revised requested capacity of 39 Preschool children.
This facility does plan to provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. For IMS information, see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. Evelyn Solorio, Program Administrator was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
This facility does/does not provide care to infants.
