25 | On 8/22/23 at 10:20am, an annual inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), E. Laird and S. Sims. At 10:25am the home was toured inside and outside. The licensee and assistant were supervising 14 children. Two children were under school age, therefore the licensee was operating outside the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. The facility’s operating hours are 6:15 am - 5:15 pm, Monday–Friday. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. There is a dedicated child care room in the lower level of the home. The upstairs is off-limits and inaccessible with a gate at the entrance to the staircase. The children use the back yard as the outdoor play area and it is fully fenced. There is a hot tub in the front yard area that has a key lock.
Five children's records were reviewed at 10:49am. Two staff records were reviewed at 10:57am.
There are currently 2 adults living in the home. The Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
The following deficiencies were cited (see LIC 809D):
LPA E. Laird informed licensee, Sally Eigen that this report dated 8/22/23 documents 1 Type A citation(s) which shall be posted for 30 consecutive days as there is an immediate risk to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care.
