32 | Snack menus are posted one month in advance where they are visible by the child's authorized representative. Younger children building has storage area where snacks are stored, and older children building has small kitchen, where LPA observed refrigerator with snacks that need to be refrigerated .Snacks were reviewed for availability, quantity, and appropriateness to children in care. The facility provides AM and PM snacks; children bring their own lunch .
All storage containers for solid waste, including movable bins, shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. Drinking water is readily available both indoors and outdoors via water pitcher and children bring their own water bottles too. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects, and rodents.
The Director office and staff restroom are used for the ill children. Mat is available upon request.
LPA observed three different outdoor play areas , two for younger children and one for older groups. Outdoor playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. All areas around or under high climbing equipment, slides, and similar equipment are cushioned with sand. There is adequate shade in the play yard.
Sign in and out sheets were reviewed to ensure that the person who signs the child in and out uses their full legal signature and records the time of the day.
At 10:45 am, children’s Records were reviewed to ensure that Identification and Emergency form and a medical assessment are on file. During the review, LPA observed 2 out of 8 were missing medical assessment forms. Inspection of required forms was made and documented on LIC 857.
At 11:00 am, LPA reviewed staff records. During the file review, LPA observed 1 out of 11 records was missing proof of immunization's. Criminal Records Clearance for adults and verification of CPR/First Aid and health preventative practices documentation was reviewed. There is at least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid present during this inspection. The review of Staff records was documented on LIC 859.
