25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Bardo Baluyot conducted an unannounced required annual inspection. LPA met with Directors, Thais Anderson and Bob Boyman who guided the analyst on a tour of the facility. A COVID risk self assessment was conducted upon entry. This is a Parent-Cooperative preschool program which consists of 4 classrooms; Group 1, Group 2, Group 3 and Group 4 & 5. The facility runs two different program; 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM. The facility also offers a 'Stay and Play' which runs from 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM and a 'Lunch Bunch' runs 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM. The following teacher-child ratio was observed during this visit; Group 1-2 - staff #1, #2 and #3 and 2 volunteer parents with 17 children, Group 3 - staff #3 and #4 with 6 children. Groups 4 & 5 had already left for the day during time of inspection. All areas were identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. The following was observed during this visit.
Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were inaccessible to children. Licensee states that there are no poisons on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All toilets, hand washing, and bathing facilities are safe, sanitary and are operating properly. All floors are clean and safe.
All kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish and rodents and/or any other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. Drinking water is readily available both indoors and outdoors in the form of personal water bottles which are refilled with filtered water upon request. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects and rodents.
