25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Cynthia Reyes, conducted an unannounced case management, decrease in capacity inspection, to ensure the health and safety standards as required by the regulations governing child care centers. LPA met with Dinorah Jimenez, PM Teacher, also present was Substitute Teacher, George Soffa and Paulette Jacquez, AM Instructional Assistant. Claudia Casillas Program Facilitator arrived shortly after. A risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. Due to COVID- 19 precautionary measures were taken during the entire inspection and LPA wore appropriate personal protective equipment. This is a Head Start preschool program that is operated by Mountain View school district on the Monte Vista Elementary School site.
This facility is licensed to care for 45 preschoolers, and is requesting to decrease to 35. This is a licensed preschool age head start program which operates an AM session Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 11:30 am, and a PM session Monday- Friday 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM. All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. Facility is located in 2 classrooms MV # 1 and MV# 2. Per program facilitator, classroom MV# 2 is used for the Early Head Start Home Based program twice a month for socialization and parents are present during that time
LPA observed the child care has 1 bathroom with 3 toilets and 3 sinks. (Cap:45). Claudia Casillas Program Facilitator, states will submit a waiver request for the licensed preschool program to share the bathroom with the early head start program.
LPA observed the Preschool Outdoor playground and it is separate from the early head start program, However the early head start program children needs to walk through the preschool play ground to get to their own enclosed play ground. A waiver is needed for them to walk though the preschool yard. |
