32 | On 11/07/2022, the Department received notification from the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB), Division of Drinking Water (DDW). The SWRCB report indicated the facility was inspected and samples were collected on 10/28/2022. Faucets and drinking fountain reported with 5.5 ppb or greater lead exceedance levels were as follows: Room 4, Sink (6.220 UG/L) – Faucet and drinking fountain is currently not in use. Ms. Valdez stated that the drinking fountain has not been used since the pandemic 2020. The drinking fountain and faucet have been covered since the discovery of its lead level exceedance and has not been used for drinking or meal preparation. The proof was verified in person during this inspection and pictures were taken by LPA Garcia. Ms. Valdez stated that the facility has replaced faucet and drinking fountain and is in the process of re-testing.
Grant funding will be available for testing and remediation of lead to the Child Care Centers that qualify. To make a determination of eligibility, refer to PIN 21-04-CCP. Appeal rights were provided to facility today. A notice of site visit was also provided and must remain posted for 30 days.
