On 12/6/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Adrian Risher conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection for the preschool license. LPA met with Assistant Director Mazidah Oleary and toured the facility indoors and outdoors. Caridad Greco, Director arrived while LPA was reviewing files. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday 9am to 2pm. LPA observed 84 children with 14 teachers throughout the facility. LPA confirmed the facility phone number is 310 271 5197.

LPA toured the inside and outside of the facility. The facility has 6 classrooms. LPA observed designated cubbies in each classroom. LPA observed age appropriate equipment in each classroom. LPA observed furniture and equipment in good condition. LPA inspected the bathrooms in each classroom and observed all equipment operating properly. LPA inspected the kitchen and observed snacks that are served to the children. Director stated the facility only provides snacks and the children bring lunch from home. LPA observed proper sign in/out documentation and current fire drill log. Director stated children do not take naps at the facility. LPA did not observe any nap equipment at the facility.

Playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area.

Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. LPA tested the carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors during inspection. LPA observed fire extinguishers and first aid kits in each classroom.

LPA completed file reviews for children and staff. Children and staff files were complete. LPA observed more than one staff with current cpr and pediatric first aid certification. Staff have completed mandated reporter training.

Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited.

Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.

Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
