32 | The facility provides snacks to children in care which is provided by the Star Program. LPA Clayton observed and inspected the food storage areas designated for the after-school program. LPA Clayton reminded Director Carlos to put the date on all food once opened and add the expiration date to any food items removed from the original container. Menus are posted monthly.
There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. LPA observed multiple first aid kits. LPA Clayton reminded Director and Assistant Director to check the kits for expired products regularly.
The children have access to 1 boy’s bathroom & 1 girls bathroom inside of the main building, and a bathroom bungalow with separate boys and girls bathrooms. All toilets and handwashing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition.
Drinking water is available inside and outside.
Facility was observed to have a centralized smoke detector/alarm system. LPA Clayton observed a fully charged 3A40BC Fire Extinguisher in the classroom. Site Director Carlos stated that the Fire Department tested the alarm systems on Monday February 24, 2025. LPA Clayton instructed Site Director to request the Fire Department Inspection report for their records.
LPA Clayton reviewed 5 children’s files and observed files to have current contact information of parents and authorized representatives, and authorization for medical treatment, signed Parent’s Rights and signed Personal Rights receipts.
LPA Clayton reviewed 5 employee files and observed licensing forms and immunization records required for childcare providers.
Site Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Childcare Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
