On 05/15/2024 at 2:05 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Katrina Chicote conducted an Unannounced Case Management - Incident inspection to follow up on an incident that was reported to The Department on 04/29/2024. Upon arrival, LPA met with Facility Representative (FR) Verdina Watson, Principal, who allowed entry to facility. Census was provided.

On 04/29/2024, an incident was reported to The Department in regards to an allegation made by a parent that her child disclosed to her that the child's personal rights were violated at the facility. The facility reported this incident to the Department within the required 24 hours and submitted written report within seven days.

Per FR, they followed LAUSD protocols in regards to these types of allegations and reported to LAPD and CAHL. LAPD came to facility and conducted interviews and informed FR to handle administratively. Per FR, they are currently conducting their own investigation that consists of interviewing children and staff in the classroom. At this time, the investigation is still ongoing and no additional information is available at time of inspection. FR states both the child and the teacher named in allegation are present at the facility.

During this inspection LPA interviewed pertinent individuals. No corroborating information was provided at this time. Based on the information obtained during today's inspection there is not enough information to come to a determination. LPA requested FR to keep The Department informed of their investigation and they may return at a later time for further follow up.

The facility was found in compliance per Title 22 regulations, there will be no deficiencies cited today, 05/15/2024.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.

Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with the Facility Representative, Vernida Watson.
