25 | On 08/12/22, LPA Chambers conducted the original inspection and due to technical difficulties, LPA left a Facility Evaluation Report LIC809 (manual). On 08/26/22, LPA Chambers went to center to obtain signatures for the recovered report. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dayna Chambers conducted an unannounced annual inspection on August 12, 2022 at: 10:00AM. LPA met with Maria Rodriguez, Site Supervisor, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. This is a preschool program with Toddler Option. The Toddler Option is currently not in service due to the refurbishment of rooms. The Preschool program consists of 8 open classrooms; RM #1 through RM #8. Classroom’s that will be used for the Toddler Program will use the additional classrooms that are currently closed for refurbishment: RM#9 through RM#12. Facility operation hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30AM to 4:30PM Monday through Friday.All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. Upon arrival, the following staff were present during this inspection: RM#1 with Staff #1 and 5 preschoolers, RM#2 with Staff #2 and 8 preschoolers, RM#3 with Staff#3 and 2 preschoolers, RM# 4 with Staff #4 and 5 preschoolers, RM#5 is closed today, RM#6 and Staff#5 and 8 preschoolers, RM#7 and Staff#6 and 11 preschoolers, and RM#8 is closed today. The facility was observed to be within the license capacity and limitations. The following was observed during the tour of the facility:Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Children have their own cubby to store their belongings. The center has a laundry room and washes children’s linens. Napping equipment (mats) were observed in a separate storage room. Per Site Supervisor, the isolation area is in the office. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability and good repair in all restrooms. General sanitation was observed. Availability of indoor drinking water was observed in classrooms.Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were inaccessible to children. Site Supervisor states that poisons are locked in an inaccessible room. Carbon monoxide detectors were observed and are operable. All kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish, rodents, and/or any other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids or solid waste bags shall be discarded immediately after each meal. |
